We are New York’s only trade association devoted exclusively to the life science industry, providing advocacy, business development, and communications services for approximately 450 members across New York and around the world.

Benefits

NewYorkBio Leadership

Leaders of NewYorkBIO members in good standing are eligible to be nominated for election to the NewYorkBIO Board of Directors (Sustaining Membership includes a Board seat.)

Public Policy and Advocacy

NewYorkBIO actively lobbies for statewide support, focus and investment in New York’s bioscience industry including advocacy and public policy activities that build support for the industry with state, local and federal governments and influence key legislation. NewYorkBIO’s annual Advocacy Day brings together life sciences executives from across New York State to Albany to collectively educate, inform, and lobby legislators on issues of critical importance to the industry. 

NewYorkBIO is also the officially designated state affiliate to the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington DC. Through this relationship, NewYorkBIO has a voice in federal policy that will shape the current and future biotechnology industry. NewYorkBIO leads the New York delegation at the annual BIO Fly-In, a program that brings over 1,000 leaders of the national biotech industry to lobby congress.

Purchasing Group

NewYorkBIO members are eligible for significant cost savings through the NewYorkBIO Savings Program, which provides money-saving and enhanced-service contracts for our members’ purchases. NewYorkBIO obtains discounts and benefits usually reserved for only the largest national accounts with such providers as VWR (lab supplies), Office Depot (office supplies), Chubb (insurance services), UPS Healthcare (shipping), and many others.

 

 

 

Engagement

Members receive a broad range of engagement opportunities through events and programs, including weekly Virtual Breakfast Series, featuring thought leaders from across the life science spectrum.  NewYorkBIO hosts frequent networking events, the NewYorkBIO Annual Meeting, the annual NY-NJ Cruise, CEO and executive roundtables and newly created affinity groups within the NewYorkBIO membership.  NewYorkBIO is always expanding the way we engage with our members and finding new ways for our members to engage with each other and the broad New York life science stakeholder community. 

Marketing and Communications

Members receive increased visibility through NewYorkBIO communications channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn. These include free corporate listing in NewYorkBIO’s Membership Directory, a presence on the NewYorkBIO website with direct link to member company’s website, free event postings on the NewYorkBIO website, job postings on NewYorkBIO’s job board, and opportunities to present at various NewYorkBIO meetings, including the Annual Meeting.

Business Development

Members receive business development opportunities through our technology transfer resources, partnering resources, and contact directory, making introductions and fostering discussion between scientist-entrepreneurs and companies, financers and business development professionals in our biotech community.

Industry Insight, Education, and Information

Members receive increased competitive understanding of the industry through training and educational programs, NewYorkBIO reports and publications, including economic development reports, newsletters, press releases and ongoing media relations.
