NewYorkBIO, New York City Economic Development Corporation, & Empire State Development Partner to Launch New York Bio Connect

New York’s leading life science advocacy association and economic development organizations develop resource hub to strengthen statewide life sciences ecosystem

September 30, 2025, New York, NY – NewYorkBIO,  New York City Economic Development Corporation, and Empire State Development announced today the launch of New York Bio Connect, a health and life sciences hub focused on accelerating innovation and strengthening collaboration among New York’s life science community. Unveiled at NewYorkBIO’s annual Innovation Summit, the hub serves as a one-stop-shop for New York’s life science sector to access information and resources to support their operations and growth.

“The launch of New York Bio Connect marks an important milestone for our state’s life sciences community,” said Jennifer Hawks Bland, CEO of NewYorkBIO. “This platform reflects the collective strength of New York’s ecosystem—bringing together companies of every size, academic institutions, investors, and support organizations. By making it easier to access resources and opportunities, New York Bio Connect will empower innovators to advance research, accelerate development, and bring groundbreaking treatments and technologies to patients.”

A first-of-its-kind information hub for the state’s bioscience industry, New York Bio Connect organizes funding opportunities, facility specs, career openings, services and programs, and news and events across the state to position professionals and companies in the health and life sciences for success in the Empire State.

“New York Bio Connect represents a transformational step forward that will continue to cement New York City as a national leader in the health and life science innovation sector,” said NYCEDC President & CEO Andrew Kimball. “By centralizing essential resources, opportunities, and information, this platform breaks down barriers and empowers entrepreneurs, researchers, and companies of all sizes to reach their highest potential—driving discoveries, supporting job growth, and ultimately improving health outcomes for communities across New York and beyond.”

New York has long been recognized as a resource-rich hub driving innovation among emerging entrepreneurs, established companies, and the talented professionals that comprise the bioscientific workforce. NewYorkBIO, the leading voice for life science companies in New York, works closely with NYCEDC and Empire State Development, the key economic development drivers supporting companies of all sizes and stages in the city and state. All three organizations provide access to key resources critical to a life science company’s success. Through their work, the organizations identified an opportunity to reduce barriers and create one central location for life science companies and professionals— both New York-based and considering a move to New York—to access the resources needed to thrive and more efficiently research, develop, and commercialize the treatments and cures of tomorrow.

Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight said, “With New York Bio Connect, we are creating a powerful economic development asset for the entire state. This platform will not only spotlight the tremendous work happening across our life sciences ecosystem, but also expand access to capital, facilities, talent, and partnerships—helping New York attract investment, grow companies, and create good jobs in every region.”
