Statement on Behalf of Jennifer Hawks Bland, CEO of NewYorkBIO
"NewYorkBIO opposes the proposed bill S.929 (Krueger) / A.2141 (Rosenthal) in its present state. While we understand the intention of the proposed legislation, we urge the legislature to incorporate additional exemptions to protect the health data used by the life science industry for core functions, including research and development and clinical trials.
As the leading advocate for New York’s life science community, we look forward to working with Governor Hochul and her administration to continue to discuss our concerns to ensure that the bioscience industry can focus on life-saving treatments, right here in New York, without unintended barriers and compliance challenges."
